Youth In Need’s Day of Service for Tornado Relief Efforts
The tornado that swept through the St. Louis area on Friday, May 16, 2025, has left a trail of devastation. Youth In Need’s Academy School was hit, along with the surrounding Academy-Sherman Park Neighborhood. We want to give a huge thanks to staff, volunteers and donors who have stepped up to help us provide support to our community.
On Monday, June 2, 2025, Youth In Need took part in an organization-wide day of service in the Academy-Sherman Park Neighborhood. More than 250 staff members came together in a unified tornado relief effort to provide support, supplies and clean-up services to those facing hardship due to the tornado.
“We may never fully know the impact of the time we spent there, but I believe healing begins with moments like these—when people show up with compassion and grit,” said Melissa Tureaud, Vice President of Early Learning Programs.

Annual Bingo Night Raises $10,000
Thank you to everyone who attended Youth In Need’s annual Bingo Night hosted by our Young Professionals Group on Friday, May 30, 2025! With almost 200 players joining us for games, raffles and a silent auction, we raised more than $10,000 to benefit the thousands of youth and families Youth In Need serves. A huge thank you to every sponsor, donor and bingo player who made it happen!
