Youth In Need Receives Innovation in Philanthropy Award

The St. Louis Business Journal recently recognized Youth In Need’s partnership with Healthy Blue as one of three Innovation in Philanthropy award winners! The award celebrates local partnerships for going above and beyond standard philanthropic practices in new and creative ways.

Youth In Need launched its Landlord Engagement Program in 2023, thanks to funding from Healthy Blue, a Medicaid product offered by Missouri Care, Inc. The program helps under-resourced youth who are transitioning out of foster care, residential programs or homelessness find stable and permanent housing. The Landlord Engagement Program works to strengthen the relationships between landlords and transition-age youth. As a result, Youth In Need’s programs have been able to help clients find stable housing more quickly. Healthy Blue also previously provided a grant to help Youth In Need assist with utility assistance, childcare and basic transportation.

Give STL Day Returns in May

#GiveSTLDay returns on May 9, 2024. Give STL Day is an annual local day of giving powered by the St. Louis Community Foundation, raising more than $30 million for nonprofits since 2014!

This year, join Youth In Need in celebrating its 50th anniversary by supporting its very first program—the Emergency Shelter. Since opening its doors in 1974, the Emergency Shelter has provided a space for safety, hope and success for our region’s most vulnerable youth.

Here’s to 50 supporting 50 more! We’re challenging 50 donors to give $50 in honor of Youth In Need’s 50th anniversary. When we hit our goal, we’ll have raised more than $2,500 for our Emergency Shelter!

Just can’t wait until May 9 to show your support of Youth In Need? No problem! You can take advantage of #GiveSTLDay early giving and give now.
