Child Abuse Prevention Month: Standing Together for Children

“Prevention begins by ensuring families have access to the support, resources and connections they need—before challenges turn into crises.” — Prevent Child Abuse America
As we close out Child Abuse Prevention Month, we reflect on the national symbol of child abuse prevention: blue pinwheels. They represent the bright, happy childhood every child deserves.
This month is about more than awareness—it’s about action, support and standing together for the children in our community.
Prevention begins with all of us. As we close out this month, remember to continue the momentum of creating environments where children feel safe and can thrive. Whether at home, at work or in other community spaces, look for ways that you can support families in your area.

Youth In Need Attends Missouri Head Start Association Family Leadership Conference
Last week, Youth In Need staff and Head Start parents from around the state gathered in Jefferson City to participate in a seminar about advocacy, meet with Senator Mike Bernskoetter and observe the House and Senate in session.
During their visit, they conferenced with Missouri Head Start parents who are in Washington D.C. with the National Head Start Association as part of the Parents Unite Campaign to learn more about their experience advocating with U.S. Representatives.
We are thrilled to provide opportunities that empower parents to use their voices to advocate for children and families!

Give STL Day 2026: Early Giving Is Now Open!
Give STL Day—a day of celebration and support of the nonprofits that make up St. Louis—is May 7, 2026!
Over the past decade, Give STL Day has raised more than $34 million for more than 1,000 local nonprofits. Now, we’re asking you to help us reach our goal this year!
Your contribution will help us continue our mission of building on the strengths of children, youth and families so they find safety, hope and success in life. Every dollar helps another family receive counseling, another child get ready for kindergarten and another youth gain access to shelter and independence—all through Youth In Need’s programs.
Thank you for your support . . . it truly changes lives!
